Laborer dies in gun attack

 MANILA, Philippines - A 36-year-old construction worker was shot dead outside his home in Navotas City before dawn yesterday.

Witnesses said at least six persons barged into the house of Orlando Cabellero at around 2 a.m., woke him up, dragged him outside and shot him several times.

The assailants fled after making sure the victim was dead.

Caballero’s relatives said they do not know why he was killed since he was never involved in the illegal drug trade.
