School exec killed
ILOILO CITY, Philippines – The assistant principal of a high school in Iloilo was found dead yesterday.
The body of Dante Roldan, 59, of the Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School was found in a grassy area in Barangay Naslo at around 5:10 a.m.
Inspector Menrico Candaliza, Maasin police chief, said the head of the victim was struck by a hard object.
In Pangasinan, Rommel Cruz, a dean of the Pangasinan State University in Binmaley, was wounded in a gun attack in Lingayen also yesterday.
Cruz was driving his Toyota Vios on his way to work in Barangay Poblacion when motorcycle-riding men shot him several times at around 7:30 a.m.
Cruz was taken to the Nazarene Hospital then transferred to a hospital in Dagupan City.
Police are still investigating the motives for the attacks.
