Cet Dematera - The Philippine Star

LEGAZPI CITY , Philippines  – At least 163 people were arrested in two weeks as the Bicol region police stepped up its anti-illegal gambling drive, a consolidated report from Camp General Simeon Ola showed.

Camarines Sur topped the drive with 93 persons, followed by Albay, 31; Catanduanes, 20; Masbate, 15; and Sorsogon, 4. The men were charged for playing tong-its, cara y cruz, jueteng, loteng, pula-puti and domino – all violations of Presidential Decree 1602 and Republic Act 9287.

The campaign came after President Duterte declared war against all forms of illegal gambling.
