Mayor’s aides’ houses strafed; 2 hurt

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Two men were wounded  in simultaneous gun attacks in Isabela on Tuesday night.

Reports received by Senior Superintendent Reynaldo Garcia, Isabela police director, show that the houses of Pablo Guiquing, 67, and Roberto Macapallag, aides of Mayor Antonio Miro, in  Barangay Minanga in San Pablo town were strafed at around 9 p.m.

The victims were taken to the Milagros District Hospital for treatment.

The attacks followed the killing of a supporter of Miro’s political rival Norma Pinson last week. Two other supporters of Miro and four of Pinson were gunned down in separate incidents last year.

The killings remain unsolved.
