‘Rogue cops should fight Abus’
ZAMBOANGA CITY , Philippines – Rogue policemen should be in the frontline of the military offensive against Abu Sayyaf bandits, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Gov. Mujiv Hataman has said.
Hataman made the proposal amid plans to transfer scalawag policemen, including those linked to the illegal drug trade, to ARMM.
“Kung ilalagay lang sila sa headquarters baka dagdag lang sila sa administrative problem (They would only contribute to administrative problems if they will be brought to the headquarters),” he said.
Hataman said the leadership of the ARMM police has enough problems regarding the deployment of its personnel.
He said rogue policemen could help the military in its public works projects or serve as cooks or guards during its operations.
Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa earlier said ARMM residents should just kill rogue policemen if they would continue to misbehave in their new assignment.
