Woman hurt in mugging
MANILA, Philippines - A businesswoman was stabbed by an unidentified robber who took her shoulder bag, which contained cash and other belongings, in Muntinlupa City last Saturday, police said yesterday.
Menchita Grimaldo, 49, was walking home when a man appeared from behind and tried to grab her bag.
When she refused, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed her once in the right shoulder.
Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario, Southern Police District director, said the incident happened along East Service Road in Barangay Sucat at around 10:30 p.m.
The robber took Grimaldo’s handbag and fled the scene on foot. The bag contained P30,000 in cash, P3,000 worth of jewelries, one Cloudfone tablet, one Samsung Galaxy phone, assorted ATM and identification cards.
The victim was brought to a hospital for treatment.
