4 drug suspects killed

MANILA, Philippines - Four more suspected drug pushers were killed in separate incidents on Thursday.

An alias Bunso, Catherine Subiaga and a certain Angel, residents of Barangay Banga 1st in Plaridel, Bulacan, were shot dead by unidentified men. 

The victims were in an owner type jeep  (CMX-938) when they were fired at along the diversion road. They died at the scene. 

Eleven bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol, five from an M16 rifle and two pieces of cardboard identifying the fatalities as drug pushers were recovered near their bodies.

 In Rizal, Cristobal Bagtas, 48, alias Val, reportedly drew his gun at police operatives during a sting in Barangay Santiago in Baras town.

Chief Inspector Christopher Cabugwang, Baras police chief, said Bagtas yielded a caliber .38 revolver, five sachets of shabu, P300 in cash and a Kawasaki Barako tricycle.

Cabugwang said they received reports that Bagtas was behind the proliferation of illegal drugs in his barangay.

Also on Thursday, ?former overseas contract worker Eddie Bendillo was arrested after a raid on his house in Barangay 4 in  San Mateo, Isabela  yielded sachets of shabu and marijuana leaves.

Vendor Abdul Bandrang, 29, and cell phone technician Jordan Quilang, 26, were collared in a sting along the highway in Barangay Magsaysay in Alicia town.

Sachets of shabu were also seized from the house of Bobby de los Santos in Barangay San Miguel in Iriga City.  Police said the suspect is ranked third on the city’s drug watchlist.

In Legazpi City, Manuel Tayam III was arrested during a drug sting in Zone 4, Barangay 37.
