3 dead in vehicular accidents

TUGUEGARAO, Philippines – Three persons died while five others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Isabela and Ilocos Norte on Wednesday. ?

Marlon Palalay and his partner Chrystalin Zapata, both 28, were on a motorcycle when they figured in an accident in Barangay Minante 2, Cauayan City, Isabela.

The victims died while being treated at the Cauayan Medical Specialist Hospital.

Meanwhile,?in Ilocos Norte, Eric Esposo, 37, died when their van collided with a truck in Barangay Valdez, Marcos town.

Chief Inspector Dexter Corpuz, spokesman for the Ilocos Norte police, said Esposo and van driver Leonardo Molina, 45, came from a drinking session.

Esposo was declared dead on arrival at the Doña Josefa District Hospital, where Molina was also taken for treatment.

Truck driver Romel Tamayo, 35, who was arrested after the incident, was found to be driving without a license, according to Corpuz.

In Naguilian, Isabela, tricycle drivers Ronaldo Gahes, 56, and Armando Pariñas Jr., 49, were taken to a hospital after their vehicles collided in Barangay San Manuel.

Also taken to the hospital for treatment were their passengers Dave Esperanza, 3, and Estelita Gahes, 40.
