16 hurt in Laguna road mishap

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Philippines – Sixteen persons were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Nagcarlan, Laguna on Wednesday.

The victims were taken to the Nagcarlan District Hospital.

Superintendent Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson for the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police, said a dump truck loaded with sand was on its way to Sta. Cruz town when the driver lost control of the wheel when the brake malfunctioned.

The dump truck plowed through four motorcycles, four tricycles and eight cars.

Police filed charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple serious physical injuries and physical injury and multiple damage to property against the driver of the dump truck identified as Isagani Albor.
