Man stabbed dead by brother-in-law

MANILA, Philippines – A 28-year-old man died when he was stabbed by his brother-in-law following an argument in Tondo, Manila on Saturday night.

Rhoel Leal, of Chesa street, died while being treated at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect identified as Rogelio Evangelista.

Senior Police Officer 2 John Charles Duran of the Manila Police District homicide unit said Leal and Evangelista argued at around 11 p.m. at their house.

Prior to this, Leal and his friend, Danro Centero, were drinking at the corner of Sta. Fe and Coral streets when Evangelista arrived and hit Centero with a wood over an unpaid debt.

Irked, Leal went home and confronted his brother-in-law.

At the height of their argument, Evangelista took a knife and stabbed Leal in the chest.
