MANILA, Philippines - The number coding scheme on major roads in Metro Manila will be lifted on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, which have been declared non-working days.

MMDA officer-in-charge Tim Orbos said yesterday there would be no number coding for private and public vehicles on Monday and Tuesday.

He said the enforcement of the number coding scheme will resume on Nov. 2.

All provincial buses will have an extended exemption from the number coding scheme from Nov. 2 to Nov. 3 in anticipation of a big number of people who will be going back to Manila.

Meanwhile, Orbos said the “expanded no window hours” will be fully implemented on Nov. 2, which will cover 23 roads.

In the MMDA’s advisory, the “expanded no window hours” covers EDSA, C-5 Road, Recto Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Araneta Avenue, C-6 Road, Roxas Boulevard, Taft Avenue, South Luzon Expressway and Shaw Boulevard.

It will also cover Ortigas Avenue, Magsaysay Boulevard, Aurora Boulevard, Quezon Avenue, Commonwealth, A. Bonifacio Road, Rizal Avenue, Delpan, Marcos Highway, McArthur Highway, Alabang-Zapote, Samson Road and A. Mabini street.

The “no window hours” of the number coding scheme will also be enforced from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
