MARAWI CITY, Philippines – Soldiers foiled an attempt to bomb the Agus 1 hydroelectric plant on Sunday.
The Army’s explosives, ordnance and disposal team defused an improvised bomb found in a bag abandoned in front of the power plant.
On Saturday, a hand grenade exploded at the gate of the power plant. No one was reported hurt in the attack.
Authorities said the incidents could be the handiwork of drug dealers who are now out of business because of the intensified anti-drug campaign.
