MANILA, Philippines (Philippines News Agency) — All rail networks nationwide have also been placed on full alert Saturday following the deadly blast at a night market in Davao City on Friday.

This was confirmed by Transportation Undersecretary for Rails Noel Kintanar, who asked for the public's understanding and help.

"We ask for the commuters' cooperation in the implementation of security measures and their assistance in reporting any suspicious behavior in the stations, trains and across the rail network," he said.

Kintanar's announcement came after the Transportation department increased security measures in airports and ports nationwide to prevent another terrorist attack.

The Metro Manila International Airport Authority also placed the Ninoy Aquino International Airport under "full alert" on Saturday. The Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) also followed placing its unit under full alert and both agencies started implementing stricter security measures.
