3 dead in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – Three persons died while 14 others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Candelaria, Quezon at dawn yesterday.

Van driver Jayfy Africa Bautista and seven-year-old Marvic Malehano were declared dead on arrival at a hospital after their vehicle figured in an accident in Barangay Mangilag Sur.

Africa was driving along Maharlika Highway when his van collided with a passenger jeepney driven by Diomedes Petallano at around 2 a.m.

Petallano and his passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Less than an hour later,  Jerahmeel Faigao was declared dead on arrival at the Peter Paul Medical Center after his car was hit by a truck in Barangay Maasin Sur at around 2:45 a.m.

Faigao’s companion, Ledievine Verde, was taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, in Isabela, a water delivery boy died after he was hit by a GV Florida bus as he was crossing the highway in Reina Mercedes town on Saturday night.

Jay Aggari of Barangay Turod was the second to die in the same  incident involving the bus company within a week.

Bus driver Victor de Vera Jr. surrendered to the police station of the nearby city of Cauayan.
