BACOLOD CITY, Philippines– Joint police and military operatives arrested a New People’s Army leader in Siaton, Negros Oriental on Wednesday night.

Marilyn Badayos, 47, with aliases of Aling Mita and Jong, was collared at a checkpoint in Barangay Bondoc in Dumaguete City. 

Senior Superintendent Harris Fama, Negros Oriental police acting director, said Badayos is the secretary of the South East Front-Komite Rehiyonal-Negros.

Badayos is tagged in the killing of Pfc. Marlon Lanes on July 4, 2014. She is also a suspect in the ambush of two police officers in Candoni town on Feb. 18.
