2 dead in Cavite vehicular mishaps

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Two men died while seven others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Cavite yesterday morning.

Robenson Cablino of Nueva Ecija was driving a truck in Barangay Hugo, Trece Martirez when the vehicle developed engine trouble at around 2 a.m. yesterday.

Cablino lost control of the wheel, causing the truck to hit a passenger van.

Police said Cablino was able to jump out of his truck before it hit the van, but he was run over by his vehicle. He died at the scene.

Van passengers Alex Andren, 40; Aljur Andren, 6; Perlinda Sumabong, 35; Mark Anthony Ebonia, 26; Antonio Ebonia, 60; Oliver Magbutay, 59, and Lisa Tubong-Bayan, 26, were taken to the MV Santiago Hospital for treatment.

In the same day, jeepney driver Primitivo Cadelina of Makati City was driving along the Epza-Bacao diversion road in Barangay Bacao 2 in General Trias town when his truck slammed into a trailer truck.

The trailer truck, driven by Vincent Rojas, was about to enter the Cavite Export Processing Zone Authority when it figured in the accident.

Cadelina was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

Rojas was taken to the municipal police station for investigation.

Quezon accidents leave 2 dead

Meanwhile, in Quezon province, a handicraft maker and a woman died in road accidents in Lopez and Pagbilao towns on Saturday. 

Elionor Argelio, 22, and Mary Rose Ibarra Ricamara, 25, were declared dead on arrival in separate hospitals, according to Quezon police director Senior Superintendent Eugene Paguirigan.

Reports said Argelio was on a motorcycle driven by her partner Domingo Barrios when an Isuzu truck hit them in Barangay Sugod, Lopez.

Meanwhile, Ricamara was traveling in Barangay Ibabang Palsabangon, Pagbilao when her closed van was hit by a motorcycle driven by Felix Alcoseba, 37.
