COTABATO CITY — Two men on board a motorcycle shot dead on Tuesday in Tacurong City a police officer, who is the wife of the vice mayor of the politically-troubled Talitay town in Maguindanao.
The victim, PO3 Lilibeth Sabal of the Philippine Maritime Group, and her companions were on board a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck parked along a busy road in Barangay Buenaflor in Tacurong City when the suspects arrived and shot at them with caliber .45 handguns. Sabal was the wife of Talitay Vice Mayor Abdul Wahab Sabal.
Supt. Rannie Hachuela, chief of the Tacurong City police, said Sabal’s companion, Sammy Alimuddin, was wounded in the shooting frenzy.
Hachuela investigators are still trying to identify the culprits and their motive for the attack.
