Bus hits tricycle; 1 dead, 3 hurt

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A tricycle driver died while his three passengers were seriously injured in an accident along the national highway in Santiago, Isabela on Wednesday.

Chief Superintendent Alexander Santos, Santiago City police chief, identified the fatality as Warlito Nesperos.

Eddie Paragas, 33; Richard Alisora, 52, and Rivelyn Ignacio, 24, were brought to the Southern Isabela District Hospital for treatment.

Initial reports showed that a GV Florida bus? (UVK-745), which was reportedly racing with another vehicle, hit the tricycle in Barangay Rizal at around 6 a.m.

Responding policemen arrested the bus driver identified as Jill Maret, 39, a resident of Baggao, Cagayan.
