Vice mayor’s aide shot dead

VILLASIS, Pangasinan, Philippines – An aide of the vice mayor of Rosales, Pangasinan was gunned down in this town on Tuesday.

Michael de Guzman, security escort of Vice Mayor Harrie Bernabe, was driving his motorcycle in Barangay Puelay when unidentified men on a black Toyota Fortuner fired at him.

The assailants also took the sling bag and the 45-caliber pistol and ammunition of the victim.  

Fifteen bullet shells for a .45-caliber pistol as well as the victim’s leather wristwatch and wallet containing a sachet of suspected shabu, two identification cards and P13,443 in cash were recovered at the scene.
