Pregnant woman, 4 others hurt in Cotabato road mishap

COTABATO CITY, Philippines - Five were badly hurt, among them a pregnant woman, when a passenger multi-cab and a tricycle collided at an accident-prone stretch of the Sinsuat Avenue here shortly after sunrise Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Raul Supiter, director of the Cotabato City police, said traffic probers are now trying to determine who was to blame for the collision.

The injured tricycle and multi-cab passengers were immediately rushed to the Cotabato Regional Medical Center for medication.

The scene of the accident is near the gate of the Notre Dame of Cotabato, a Catholic school, a traffic bottleneck.

Supiter said responding policemen immediately removed the mangled multi-cab and tricycle from the road to prevent causing traffic jam.
