1 killed, 3 injured in Cagayan, Isabela road mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A man died and three others were wounded in separate road accidents in Isabela and Cagayan on Friday.

Christian Fernando, 18, died when his motorcycle collided with a military vehicle in Barangay Paddad in Alicia, Isabela around 8:30 p.m. His companion, Harold Tobias, 16, remained confined at the Cacal Hospital yesterday.

The driver of the vehicle, Sgt. Joseph Bayudan, 47, surrendered to authorities.

In Sanchez Mira town in Cagayan, Senior Police Officer 4 Onasis Palacay, 47, who was manning a checkpoint, suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a motorcycle driven by Reymar Abugan at 8:45 p.m.

SPO1 Bladimir Enteria said Abugan tried to avoid the checkpoint in front of the municipal hall.

Enteria said Palacay and Abugan, who was also injured, were brought to the Far North Hospital in Luna, Apayao for treatment.
