Nueva Vizcaya has new police chief
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The new police director here formally assumed office on Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Leumar Abugan took his oath as Nueva Vizcaya police director in a ceremony led by Chief Superintendent Ranier Idio, Cagayan Valley police regional director, at Camp Saturnino Dumlao here.
Abugan replaced Senior Superintendent John Luglug, who served as provincial director for one year and eight months.
Luglug’s tenure was supposed to end on May 23.
Abugan, who belongs to the Philippine National Police Academy’s Class of 1992, was logistics chief of the Cagayan Valley regional police office based at Camp Adduro in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Idio told The STAR that Luglug, who belongs to the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1987, was designated head of directorial staff of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
Luglug’s replacement was part of the preparations for the May elections.
Meanwhile, in Ifugao province, Senior Superintendent John Colinio was replaced by Senior Superintendent Constancio Chinayog Jr., formerly operations chief of the Cordillera police based at Camp Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet.
