Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines – Two students on Wednesday morning were injured after their school service got caught in between two trucks in Quezon City.

A radio report said the school service carrying the two students was headed to St. Theresa's College in Quezon City when a trailer truck with Plate No. XSK 167 bumped them on Mindanao Avenue. School service driver Eduardo Danao said their vehicle was not moving that time due to heavy traffic.

The trailer truck’s impact caused the school service to hit into a dump truck, later on causing it to get caught in between the two trucks.

Due to the collision, an eight-year-old student riding in front of the school service, got her feet sandwiched while another student, aged 11, was wounded.

Authorities and rescuers responded to the accident and brought the injured students to Global Hospital. One student and the school service’s conductor were safe from the accident.

Meanwhile, authorities said the trailer truck’s driver identified as Romeo Daz, will be held liable from the accident. He was charged of reckless imprudence resulting to damage to property and multiple physical injuries.

Daz defended himself saying he was not driving fast, clarifying that the road was headed downwards forcing it to bump to the school service. - Rosette Adel
