2 businessmen shot dead

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Two businessmen were killed in separate attacks by suspected contract killers in Isabela and Ilocos Sur on Sunday.

Ariel Enriquez, 47, died at the scene after the assailants shot him in front of his house in Jones, Isabela.

Probers were eyeing revenge as one of the motives for the killing.

Meanwhile, Amelito Rodery Valencia, 38, was shot as he was walking home in Barangay Labing, San Juan, Ilocos Sur.

Valencia was declared dead on arrival at the Pira Clinic and Hospital in Cabugay, according to case investigator Senior Police Oficer 2 Romulo Aguilar.

Probers recovered a bullet shell for a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
