Police raid Bulacan firecracker factory in Bulacan

Ramon Efren Lazaro - The Philippine Star

MALOLOS –Around 40 kilos of chemicals used in making firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices were seized during a raid on a firecracker factory in Bocaue, Bulacan yesterday.

A report to Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, Bulacan police director, identified the owner of the factory in Barangay Igulot as Efsie Petrosa.

No arrest was made because the workers fled upon sensing the arrival of the policemen.

Police said they safely disposed of around 30 kilos of potassium nitrate, two kilos of sulfur, four kilos of flour and three kilos of black powder.

The police had raided the same factory on Dec. 9, but the owner was reported as a certain Efsie de Leon.

Investigators are verifying if the two Efsies are one and the same person.
