Jun Elias - The Philippine Star

SAN FERNANDO, La Union, Philippines – Former Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson has withdrawn his certificate of candidacy (COC) for vice governor and will instead run for councilor in Narvacan town.

Singson withdrew his COC on Dec. 10 in favor of his younger brother, board member Jeremias Singson, and filed his COC as a substitute candidate for Epifania Canaria.

He said he transferred his residence to Narvacan to run for councilor.

Singson has endorsed the candidacy of Vice President Jejomar Binay and Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for president and vice president, respectively.

Meanwhile, Narvacan Mayor Zuriel Zaragoza is running for re-election after filing his COC as a substitute for his sister, board member Anicka Zaragoza.
