5 hurt in North Cotabato grenade attack

MANILA, Philippines – Five persons were wounded when a grenade exploded in Matalam, North Cotabato on Friday night.

Macmob Kanacan, 24; Kensed Dilangalen, 32; Dan John Anam, 28; Geraldo Peralta Jr., 44, and Sharon Diaz Bolante were taken to a hospital for treatment of shrapnel wounds.

The military said the victims were immediately discharged after receiving treatment.

Investigation showed an unidentified man hurled a grenade in front of an establishment engaged in selling motorcycle spare parts.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the attack.
