Baguio businessman murdered at home

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Businessman Henry Lao was found dead with stab wounds at his home in this city yesterday morning.

Lao, whose family owns the Tiongsan chain of department stores here and in Benguet, a hotel and gasoline stations, was found at his residence in Barangay Ferdinand here at around 10:30 a.m.

Police said the victim could have been killed the previous night.

Neighbors said they heard a noise and saw a man leaving the victim’s house at around 11 p.m. on Monday. Police are investigating the incident.

Lao was recently caught on video scolding a customer he accused of theft at his department store.

The trade department sent Lao to a seminar for customer relations over the incident.
