Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Two persons were injured in a fire that gutted a five-door apartment at a military camp in this city yesterday.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire started at apartment unit 2 located at Camp Don Basilio Navarro in Barangay Upper Calarian.

The names of the victims were not immediately available. They were rushed to Camp Navarro General Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said before the fire, two teen occupants of apartment unit 2 were seen fixing a television antenna that touched a live wire, which sparked and caused the blaze.

The fire reached second alarm before it was declared under control.

Authorities have yet to determine the amount of property destroyed in the blaze.
