DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – A Filipino-Indian businessman was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in this city on Sunday.

Sandeep Sam Kumar, 28, was getting out of his car in front of his home in Barangay Bolosan when he was killed, according to city police chief Superintendent Christopher Abrahano.

Kumar, former president of the Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan, died of gunshot wounds in the head and body. He was declared dead on arrival at the Dagupan Medical Center.

Probers recovered seven bullet shells for a 9mm pistol.

A special investigation task group has been created to solve Kumar’s killing, Abrahano said.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
