MMDA: All roads locked down for APEC now open

Rosette Adel - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday announced that all roads closed the past days for Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation events have already been made accessible to all vehicles.

The MMDA lifted the lockdown protocol at 2:45 p.m. ahead of its projected re-opening of roads at 3 or 4 p.m.

Due to this, the PNP advised the public of traffic congestion on Friday.

Roads to be closed were announced early November to give way for the arrival of over 10,000 delegates for the APEC summit 2015 hosted by the Philippines.

The APEC Leaders’ Meeting was held on November 18 and 19, with holidays declared for public and private working sector as well as students in the National Capital Region.
