MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) yesterday denied with finality the third appeal of dismissed Cadet 1st Class Aldrin Jeff Cudia asking for the release of his diploma and transcript of records from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).
The appeal was filed by Cudia’s parents in September.
“The court denied with finality the motion and considered the case closed and terminated,” SC spokesman Theodore Te told journalists.
In their appeal filed through the Public Attorney’s Office, Cudia’s parents cited humanitarian consideration in asking for the release of their son’s diploma and transcript of records.
Cudia’s father has been sick and suffered a stroke in January.
They cited an SC ruling allowing Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile to post bail in a plunder case.
The documents were among the requirements for their son’s enrollment at the University of the Philippines’ College of Law.
In April, the high court dismissed Cudia’s petition with finality, but he insisted and filed another one.
The petitioners did not appeal the high court’s ruling affirming PMA’s dismissal order against their son.
In his original petition, Cudia asked the SC to have him included in the list of graduating cadets and give him the honors and awards he deserved.
In the last pleading, Cudia no longer asked to be reinstated in the PMA and merely asked for the release of his diploma and transcript of records.
