DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A magnitude 4.7-earthquake rocked this city and its neighboring areas at dawn yesterday.
No one was reported injured or damaged in the one-minute quake that occurred at 1:33 a.m.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake’s epicenter was located 16 kilometers northwest of Davao City.
The quake was felt at Intensity 4 in Davao City, Intensity 3 in Makilala town in North Cotabato, Intensity 2 in Kabacan, Magpet and Arakan, all in North Cotabato, and Intensity 1 in General Santos City.
No aftershock was expected from the quake, which was tectonic in origin.
