Woman, son robbed, killed

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – A businesswoman and her 15-year-old son were robbed and stabbed dead, allegedly by their houseboy, in Ilagan City, Isabela yesterday morning.

Emerald Bartolome, 49, and her son Keith were found with several stab wounds in their bodies at their home in Barangay Guinatan, according to city police chief Superintendent Manuel Bringas.

Witnesses said they saw the victims’ helper, Melvin Mamuri, 32, leaving the area with his hands bloodied minutes before the crime was discovered.

Emerald was found in her bedroom and Keith in the bathroom. Her husband Orlando was not in the house when the killing occurred at around 7 a.m.

Orlando said his wife’s bag containing cash and dollar bills was missing.

Police launched a manhunt for the suspect.
