Victor Martin - The Philippine Star

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – An Australian mining firm has turned over 20 houses for victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda in Barangay Ticad in Bantayan Island, Cebu.

Bradley Norman, country director of OceanaGold Philippines Inc., which operates the Didipio mine in Kasibu town here, said their employees – in collaboration with Delta Earthmoving Inc., one of the company’s contractors – donated the houses.

OceanaGold and Delta along with the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association signed a memorandum of agreement on May 14, 2014 for the construction of the houses through Gawad Kalinga.
