Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – No crime incident was recorded during the observance of All Saints’ and Souls’ Days at various cemeteries in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), police said yesterday.

Superintendent Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson for the Calabarzon police, said several bladed weapons, firearms, liquor and other illegal items were seized from visitors at different cemeteries in the region.

Gaoiran said over 4,000 police officers secured the people who visited their relatives’ graves.

She said road safety marshals, particularly those assigned along major roads, would stay for several days more to manage traffic and secure commuters.
