Herbert Bautista files for reelection bid

MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Mayor Herbert "Bistek" Bautista on Friday submitted his certificate of candidacy for another term before the Commission on Elections local office.

Incumbent Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte will be his running mate under the Liberal Party.

Bautista decided to seek another term as mayor following the advise of supporters and friends to continue and enhance the existing projects of his administration.

He is seeking to provide more solutions to the city's concerns on housing, health and energy.

Bautista noted that he would focus on the development of an electricity-generating system for Quezon City to help alleviate the country's energy problem.

The Quezon City mayor was offered a slot in the administration party's senatorial slate but decided to seek reelection instead.
