Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A 61-year-old woman earlier tagged in the death of her husband, whom she hit with a frying pan on the head, has been cleared of parricide charges, authorities said on Monday.

Based on the findings of the medico-legal officer, Cyrill Capis, 67, died of a heart attack and not from the injuries inflicted by his wife Caridad.

Baguio City police chief Senior Superintendent Rolando Miranda ordered Caridad released from detention.

On Sept. 28, the couple quarreled over who would cook breakfast and wash the dishes.

The man reportedly punched his wife in the jaw, prompting her to hit him with a frying pan on the head.
