Woman yields P4.5M worth of shabu in Davao bust

The suspect is facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. 

MANILA, Philippines - A 40-year-old woman yielded around P4.5 million worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation staged by authorities in Davao Oriental, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.

PDEA said that Estela Pormanis, of Purok Ilang-ilang, Upper Salazar, Barangay Central, Mati City, was caught with the sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu during a sting operation by the PDEA, local police and the Philippine Air Force.

In a belated report, the PDEA said that last September 25, authorities launched a drug sting around 5 p.m. along Nazareno Street, Barangay Central, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

Operatives seized from Promanis during the operation approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P4.5 million and a portable speaker with remote control.

Pormanis will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. 

She is now under the custody of Mati City Police station.
