BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan, Philippines – A district supervisor of the Department of Education was gunned down here yesterday.

Henry Lamsen dela Cruz, 46, of Bayambang Central School and a resident of Barangay Taloyan in Malasiqui town, was driving his car on his way to the office when unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen shot him along Barangay Tambac around 9 a.m., Superintendent Gregorio Galsim, town police chief, said.

The victim died while being treated at the Bayambang District Hospital. His companion, who has not been identified, was unhurt.

Three bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol were recovered at the scene.

The incident occurred less than a week after former Bayambang mayor Leocadio de Vera Jr. was wounded in a gun attack.

The police formed a special task group to probe the killing.
