Makati cops nab 3 suspected bus robbers

MANILA, Philippines - Elements of the Makati City Police nabbed three suspected bus robbers shortly after divesting passengers of a bus in Barangay Bangkal early on Tuesday.

The Makati Police identified the three arrested suspects as Damilo Rosales, 22, Chester Gines, 29, and Jay Martinez, 32, all residents of Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Initial investigation showed that the suspects allegedly announced the robbery inside a Jackpherlyn bus (TXX-288) at about 12:52 a.m. Police said the robbers announced the heist as the bus passed Evangelista Street.

Police were however were tipped-off and were quick to arrive at the scene. The responding police officers assisted by enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority then chased the bus and then made the arrests.

According to police, the arrested suspects are members of the notorious “Ipit Gang” who prey on bus passengers.
