2 dead in gun attack
SAN JACINTO, Pangasinan, Philippines – Two men were killed while their wives were wounded in an attack by unidentified assailants in this city on Friday.
Jose Rocero, 55, died at the scene from a gunshot to the head, while Bernardo Moyargas, 66, died while being treated at the Manaoag Community Hospital in Manaoag town, where their wives Maria Lourdes Rodolfa, 50, and Dory, 45, were brought for treatment.
The victims were in a tricycle driven by Rocero when they were shot at by the assailants, who were tailing them in a sport utility vehicle, in Barangay Sta. Maria.
Rocero was hit in the head, causing the vehicle to swerve and crash into an electric post.
Investigators recovered a .45 caliber pistol, allegedly owned by Rocero, and bullet shells.
Investigators have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
