Bacolod cops help secure Iloilo APEC event

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – At least 221 personnel of this city’s police were deployed yesterday to Iloilo City to help secure the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings starting Sept. 21.

The APEC event will include conferences on small and medium enterprises from Sept. 21 to 25, disaster management from Sept. 22 to 23 and food security from Sept. 28 to Oct. 6.

The city police as well as the Negros Occidental police office will be on full alert starting on Sept. 19 as part of the preparation of the APEC event.

Chief Inspector Dianne Catedral, public information officer of the city police, said the 221 police officers include some officials and the chiefs of police Stations 8 and 9.
