DSWD employee slain in CDO gun attack

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – An employee of the local office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in this city on Friday.

Ramon Racjev Escudero II, DSWD Region 10 project development officer, was driving his motorcycle along Gusa Highway when he was shot by the assailants at past 8 p.m.

Reports said Escudero managed to get off his vehicle and run to a nearby establishment to ask for help.

He was rushed by the staff of an establishment to the Capitol University Medical Center (CUMC), where he died while being treated.

A security guard, identified as Eric Pacana was hit by a stray bullet and was taken to the CUMC for treatment.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
