Saudi envoy visits ARMM

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Saudi Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Bussairy came here on Thursday to meet with officials of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

ARMM Vice Gov. Haroun Al-Rashid Lucman and Rasol Mitmug Jr. of the office of the ARMM governor received Al-Bussairy.

Saudi Arabia is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is helping in the peace negotiations with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

Lucman said Al-Bussairy expressed his government’s readiness to provide development assistance to the ARMM.

The Saudi government has bankrolled several infrastructure projects in the ARMM through its Saudi Fund, which also supports various humanitarian projects in fledgling communities around the globe.
