Girl, 4, hacked dead

ANDA, Pangasinan, Philippines – A four-year-old girl was hacked dead while her 11-year-old sister was wounded by an unidentified man who barged into their home in Barangay Sablig here on Tuesday.

Arlyn Carace was declared dead on arrival at the Bolinao Community Hospital in neaby Bolinao town, where her sister Marvilyn was also taken for treatment.

The crime was discovered by the victims’ neighbor, Jhonson Cariño, 31, who heard the girls cry out at around 11:30 p.m.

The girls’ parents were out catching fish in a nearby river.
