ANGELES CITY, Philippines – This city’s Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan has approved an ordinance condoning penalties and other interests and surcharges for unpaid real property taxes.
The ordinance will help landowners in this city recover from the losses they incurred due to typhoons and other calamities that occurred from 2009 to 2014.
Ordinance No. 374 was backed by a resolution of the city disaster risk reduction and management council certifying that the city has been hit by several typhoons.
The ordinance covers unpaid real property taxes from January 2010 to December 2014.
The ordinance was passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in August.
