MANILA, Philippines – At least four mild earthquakes occurred in separate provinces yesterday, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said a 3.4-magnitude quake occurred at 3:39 a.m., some 38 kilometers west of Looc in Occidental Mindoro.
It was followed by a 3.7-magnitude tremor at 4:08 a.m., some 77 kilometers east of San Marcelino in Davao Occidental.
Another 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded 49 kilometers east of Cortes in Surigao del Sur at 6:32 a.m.
The last, with magnitude 3.3, occurred at 8:43 a.m. some 14 kilometers east of Solsona in Ilocos Norte.
Phivolcs said the quakes were not expected to generate aftershocks.
