Man yields P390-K worth of shabu in Butuan drug sting

Shabu, a white crystalline substance, is still the most abused drug in the country.

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected pusher yielded P390,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, popularly known as shabu, in a buy-bust operation by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Butuan City.

The PDEA identified the suspect as Francis Nonan, alias Franz, 31 years old, a resident of Villa Kananga, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

Belated report showed that last September 2 at around midnight, elements of PDEA Regional Office 13 nabbed Nonan at a a gasoline station in Barangay Bayanihan, Butuan City.

Operatives seized from Nonan during the drug sting three plastic sachets of shabu weighing more or less 50 grams, with an estimated street value of P390,000.

Nonan is now facing illegal drug raps before a local court.
