Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Police are facing a blank wall on the murder of a female engineer whose body was found in Los Baños City in this province on Saturday.

City police chief Superintendent Romeo Desidero said they have no leads yet on the identities of the killers of Imelda Natividad, 45, project manager of Shelter Development Corp.

Natividad was found hogtied and with a gunshot wound in the head in the backseat of her car parked along the road in Barangay Timugan at past 9 a.m.

Desidero said a task group was formed yesterday to investigate the case.

He said they were waiting for the results of an investigation conducted by the scene of the crime operatives, the autopsy on the victim’s body and the statements of her family, relatives and friends.

Police are tracing the whereabouts of the victim, from the time she left home in Lipa City in Batangas on Friday morning up to the time she was found dead.

Another woman found dead

Meanwhile, another woman was found dead in Batangas City on Sunday morning.

The burned body of the victim was found by village watchman Jonatahan Fernandez in a vacant lot in Barangay Cuta, according Batangas police chief Superintendent Allen Rae Figuracion Co.

Fernandez said someone burned rubber tires in the area at around 2 a.m.

He said he and his companion found a woman’s body on top of two burning tires.

Fernandez expressed belief the woman was killed somewhere else and brought to the area to mislead investigators.

Authorities have yet to identify the victim.

“We are waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of the victim’s death. She was probably burned to hide her identity,” Co said. – With Arnell Ozaeta
